How to donate
Give in five easy steps
Donating on Givvent takes less than a minute. No account required. Here is everything you need to know before, during, and after your gift.
Find a campaign
Browse campaigns from the homepage or use the search and category filters on the Browse page. Every campaign shows a progress bar, donor count, days remaining, and the organizer's story. Verified campaigns carry a blue badge indicating our team has reviewed the organizer's identity and payout details.
Choose your amount
On any campaign page, click or tap "Donate." You'll see quick amounts ($10, $25, $50, $100) and a field to enter any custom amount. There is no minimum donation. If you want to give more than once, you can also switch from "One-time" to "Monthly" or "Weekly" for a recurring gift.
Pick a payment method
Givvent accepts credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover), Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Apple Pay and Google Pay appear automatically on compatible devices. All payments are processed by Stripe - Givvent never stores your card number.
Review your order
Before confirming, you'll see a clear breakdown: your gift amount, the fees, and your total charge. You can choose to cover the fees so 100% of your intended gift reaches the campaign. You can also tick "Donate anonymously" to keep your name off the public donor list.
Confirm and done
Tap or click "Donate." Your payment is processed instantly by Stripe, your gift is added to the campaign total, and a receipt is sent to your email address. The whole process typically takes under 60 seconds.
Payment methods
Pay however is easiest
We accept cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. All payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI-DSS-compliant payment processor.
Credit or debit card
Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover are accepted. Enter your card number, expiry, CVV, and billing zip code. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are never stored on Givvent's servers.
If your card is declined, try checking that your billing address matches your bank's records, or contact your bank to approve the transaction.
Apple Pay
Available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac with Touch ID or Face ID, and on compatible browsers (Safari). Tap the Apple Pay button, confirm with Face ID or Touch ID, and the payment completes in seconds with no card entry required.
Apple Pay appears automatically if your device and browser support it. No extra setup needed.
Google Pay
Available on Android devices and in Chrome on any platform with a saved Google Pay card. Tap the Google Pay button, confirm with your device PIN or biometric, and the payment goes through instantly.

Fees
Exactly what you pay
Two separate fees apply to every donation. Both are shown clearly before you confirm. There are no hidden charges, subscriptions, or upfront costs.
2.5%
Givvent takes 2.5% of each donation to cover platform operations, fraud prevention, and customer support. This is the only fee Givvent charges, and it is applied after your donation is confirmed.
2.9% + $0.30
Stripe charges a payment processing fee of 2.9% plus $0.30 per transaction. This is Stripe's standard rate for online card payments and applies to all payment methods. Stripe collects this fee directly.
Cover the fees
At checkout, you can choose to cover the fees. When you do, a small amount is added to your charge so that after both fees come out, the campaign receives your full intended gift. For example, if you want to give $50 and cover fees, your card will be charged slightly more so the campaign gets exactly $50. The exact amount is shown before you confirm.
Anonymous giving
Give without being named
During checkout, tick "Donate anonymously" before confirming your gift. When you give anonymously:
- Your name does not appear on the public donor list on the campaign page.
- The organizer does not see your name in their donor list.
- Your gift still counts toward the campaign total.
- You still receive a receipt at your email address.
- Givvent retains the underlying records as needed to operate the platform and meet legal obligations.

Recurring donations
Give once a month or once a week
Recurring donations let you spread your support over time. You can set them up at checkout and manage them from your dashboard.
At checkout, choose "Monthly" or "Weekly" from the frequency selector. Complete your donation as normal. Stripe will charge your saved payment method on that schedule automatically.
Sign in and go to your dashboard. Under "Recurring donations" you can see all active recurring gifts, the amount, frequency, and next billing date. You can pause or cancel any of them at any time.
Click Cancel next to any recurring donation in your dashboard. Cancellation is immediate and you won't be charged again. Previous donations that have already processed are not refunded when you cancel.
After you donate
What happens next
You get a receipt
A receipt is emailed to the address you provided immediately after your donation is confirmed. Signed-in users can also download receipts anytime from their donation history in the dashboard. Please check with a tax professional about deductibility in your jurisdiction.
Your gift is counted instantly
The campaign total and donor count update in real time. Your donation appears as soon as the payment clears, typically within a few seconds. If you donated anonymously, your name won't appear publicly but your gift still counts.
You can follow along
If you have an account, you can follow the campaign to get notified when the organizer posts updates, hits milestones, or shares news. Following is free and you can unfollow at any time from your dashboard.
Funds reach the organizer
Donations are routed to the organizer's connected Stripe account and paid out to their bank automatically, typically within a couple of business days. After Givvent's 2.5% fee and Stripe's processing fee, the remainder reaches the organizer, or the full amount if you covered the fees.
