How nonprofit donations work

Alongside personal campaigns, you can give directly to verified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations on Givvent. These gifts follow a different path: they are recorded and delivered through our nonprofit giving partner, which grants the funds to the organization.

That partner network is what makes your gift officially tax-deductible and gets it to the nonprofit even if the organization hasn’t set up an account with us. Every IRS-registered 501(c)(3) is reachable.

Givvent takes 0% of nonprofit gifts. Two third-party costs exist, both itemized before you confirm: Stripe’s card processing, and our giving partner’s fee. When you cover the costs at checkout (it’s on by default), the nonprofit receives 100% of your gift; if you choose not to, those costs come out of the gift and the nonprofit receives less. A tip to Givvent, if you add one, is always separate and never reduces the gift.

Choosing to donate anonymously hides your name from the public campaign page. Your name and email are still shared with Pledgeling Foundation, the receipting 501(c)(3), so it can issue your tax receipt, and Pledgeling may share them with the recipient nonprofit.
