What "cover the costs" means at checkout

When you tick "cover the costs," a small amount is added on top of your intended gift so that, after Stripe’s 2.9% + $0.30 comes out, the campaign receives exactly what you meant to give. Givvent takes 0% either way. The option is on by default, and your total charge is always shown clearly before you confirm.

If you untick it, the processing cost comes out of your donation instead, and the campaign receives the remainder. Either way there are no surprises. The payment sheet shows the exact breakdown before you pay.
